About Us

Since the launch of Build Local in July 2013 we have had more than 90,000 visitors to our website. Those visitors use our online directory to find builders, tradies and other renovation professionals in Newcastle and the Hunter region. 

Why Did We Create Build Local?

Through our own building and renovation experiences and from talking to others, we recognised that the way consumers like to search for products and services is changing. Home owners are increasingly researching home building renovation products and services online so we thought it was about time to create a dedicated directory to showcase local tradies, product suppliers and building industry professionals who are based in Newcastle and the Hunter region. 

What Do We Do?

In addition to our online directory of builders, suppliers and tradies, we promote our members to the public in other ways. You might run into us at local trade shows where we distribute flyers and talk to potential clients about your work. You might see our ads on Facebook where we link to our member’s pages and websites. We send out eNewsletters which include special offers and the latest building industry news. Plus, home owners and renovators can call or email us directly and we will put them in touch with our members.

What Areas Do We Service?

Because good local tradies aren’t interested in travelling too far outside of their local region we have centred our directory around the Hunter region.

Service areas include: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton & Port Stephens.
